Participation and Engagement Officer - Fixed term until 31/7/2025

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Strategic Change and Delivery team working to support delivery of high priority programme. A programme that supports the implementation of the Council’s Business Plan and Medium Term Financial Plan.

We are looking for an Engagement and Participation Officer with a passion for change and the ability to enable colleagues and our key stakeholders to engage and participate in the transformation of our social work services that support children and young people. You will have experience of working in an engagement role in either a business / project support environment and will want to be part of change and transformation in the public sector, improving services for the people of Edinburgh.

You will be outcome focused and will maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders as well as being able to prioritise workload in a fast paced environment We are looking for candidates with experience of:

• Microsoft office ie being comfortable using teams, excel, powerpoint and word
• building and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• planning and organisation workload and be able to get the job done
• communicating well at all levels in writing and in person and being able to analyse and distil information
• Designing and delivering engagement and participation activities, tools and strategies

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
