The Principal Accountant role at City of Edinburgh Council demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in financial management, strategic leadership, and organisational change. Working closely with the Financial Strategy and Best Value Manager, you will have the skills to lead financial transformation initiatives, drive digital enablement, and foster a culture of prevention-led strategies, the ideal candidate will possess expertise in public financial management while adeptly navigating the complexities of the public sector.
You’ll collaborate closely senior leadership teams to formulate, develop, and ultimately deliver comprehensive savings and transformation proposals. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our financial trajectory, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. This role demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate complex financial landscapes with confidence and precision. You will manage a team of finance professionals who will support the development of savings and transformation proposals, leveraging innovative solutions and best practices to optimise financial performance and operational efficiency.
