Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership

Senior Occupational Therapist (Hub) - fixed term for 18 months
South West Locality

Salary dependent on the employing body – NHS Lothian (Band 7 £39,300 - £46,006) or the City of Edinburgh Council (Grade 8 £42,717 - £50,550).
Hours: 36 per week

The post-holder will have delegated responsibilities for the practice, strategic and managerial leadership of the Occupational Therapy service and Assistant Practitioners in the Locality Hub, ensuring provision of a quality service to people and to provide leadership to Occupational Therapy staff and Assistant Practitioners.

The post-holder will develop and implement service changes and act as a specialist resource. The balance of clinical and managerial responsibilities will be flexible in line with service need.

Candidates must have a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

The ideal candidate should have an understanding of Adult Protection legislation and be able to work with staff to support risk assessment and decision making. You should be able to work independently and have an excellent understanding of clinical practice and the standards expected by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy, Lothian Health and the City of Edinburgh Council, as this is an integrated team.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
