Solicitor (Capital)

Job Description

This role is being funding from the Council’s capital programme.  The primary purpose of the role is managing a legal case load and to give legal advice and guidance to officers and Elected Members of Clackmannanshire Council in relation to the Council’s capital programme. 

The Council has an ambitious capital programme of works and we are looking for a solicitor who can provide effective and commercial advice and assistance on contract and procurement matters including, as required, negotiating the terms of contracts at all levels of complexity, assisting in procurement processes including tender document development and associated work, advising on contract management and disputes, and assisting in with work related to contract standing orders, financial regulations. procurement strategy and procedures.

The workload will be varied, challenging and interesting, dealing with some of the most high-profile capital programme  in Clackmannanshire. You will be supported in a collegiate environment and encouraged to develop a full range of legal and other skills

You should also be comfortable in providing a broad range of advice and being able to identify when more specialist advice is required.
