Apprentice Mechanic, Marybank Depot/ Urgha Depot, Lewis & Harris (3467)
37 hours per week, Fixed term post
£25,892 to £25,931 per annum (inclusive of £2,742 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)
As an Apprentice Mechanic you will engage in all aspects of mechanical repair, maintenance and associated works of the Comhairle's Garage Services. You will receive training in the repair and maintenance of the Comhairle’s Vehicles, Plant and Equipment, whilst working towards an SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (achievability, 4 years).
You must have a sound basic education, a clear understanding of the mechanical trade and good communication skills. You must have the ability to undertake college tests relevant to the trade and you will be expected to travel to the mainland for attendance at college on a regular basis.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
