Dumfries or Stranraer

£41,238 - £44,223

Are you keen to work in a team where you can develop meaningful therapeutic relationships with service users?

Do you want to support individuals to make positive changes through delivering behaviour change programmes?

A job which provides ongoing training and development within a supportive team through accredited training alongside ongoing support in-house?  If so, this post will interest you…

The Programme Delivery Team in Justice Social Work, Dumfries and Galloway, is looking to recruit a Justice Social Worker to deliver behaviour change programmes to Justice Social Work service users, including those convicted of sexual offences and domestic abuse offences.

A recognised social work qualification is essential, as is SSSC registration.

Knowledge and experience of Justice Social Work is preferred.  An interest in, and previous experience of groupwork is essential, and training in, and delivery of, accredited behaviour change programmes is desirable. Previous experience of working with a range of offenders, including sex offenders and other high-risk offenders is beneficial.

The post holder will also be required to undertake duties including the writing of Criminal Justice Social Work Reports and the supervision of offenders subject to court orders and post custody licences, and therefore knowledge of National Outcomes and Standards for Criminal Justice Social Work and Throughcare is desirable.

The position is permanent, full-time (36 hours), Monday to Friday, with some evening work as required.  As a team we embrace agile and flexible working.

The team delivers programmes across the region with bases in Dumfries and Stranraer, and the successful candidate will be expected to travel based on service need.  A full driving licence is essential.

The delivery of the accredited programmes requires successful completion of a significant training programme and on-going performance monitoring to ensure programme integrity and accreditation standard practice.  The successful candidate will be supported to develop in knowledge and practice with access to regular clinical supervision and support.

The successful applicant will be joining a skilled and knowledgeable team committed to achieving positive outcomes for service users, their families, and local communities.          This is a real opportunity to deliver interventions and develop positive therapeutic relationships to support individuals on their change journey.
