An opportunity is offered for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to apply for the role of Teacher of English at Castle Douglas High School/Dalry Secondary School.
The successful candidate will be part of a team who will shape how English is delivered to benefit the pupils, their parents and the community the schools serve. Both schools are on a journey to being recognised as nurturing schools and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape how that nurture approach is evident within the Languages Department.
We would like to recruit a talented and committed Teacher who will bring a great deal of enthusiasm to this role. Applicants should be confident and able to demonstrate they are an experienced and innovative practitioner. They should have a sound and detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant aspects of Curriculum for Excellence 2-18 and be able to demonstrate they have a commitment to the vision, values and core priorities in the development of education, teaching and learning, which meets the needs of all pupils.
The successful applicant will support and be supported to deliver high quality educational experiences and contribute to the positive management of the school by modelling the school aims and values to maximise and recognise the attainment and achievement of all of our young people.
It is our intention to hold interviews for this post w/c 28th April or w/c 5th May.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
