Customer Service Advisor (19/744)

Dumfries & Upper Nithsdale

£16,576.63 - £17,458.27

You will be required to work 25.25 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.

Are you energetic, enthusiastic and committed to delivering excellent customer service?

Our Customer Services Department works in the heart of our local communities delivering face to face customer services, libraries, heritage services, and registration for births, deaths, and marriages.

To give you a sense of the role, in a typical day you can go from delivering BookBug sessions, to helping someone research their family tree, and to giving out food parcels and library books. So, if you love variety in your day and can see yourself at the heart of a community, we want to hear from you.

This role is mainly based within our flagship library, The Ewart, based in Dumfries.

The Ewart Library is the heart of our Library and Heritage Services so if you love history and books then this may just be the role for you.

Ideally, you’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to deal with customer enquiries sensitively. You’ll have experience working face to face with customers.

Some evening/weekend working will be required and a current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

In return we’ll provide you with all training necessary to fulfil the role and an opportunity to make a difference in your community.

This post is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standards check, and this includes candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.
