Early Years Support Assistant (Fixed Term)

£17,467.92 - £18,599.86
You will be required to work 28.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
We wish to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Early Years Support Assistant to join the staff team within Sanquhar Nursery. The Nursery is currently registered to accommodate 53 children from Eligible 2-year-olds to 5 years.
Sanquhar Nursery is very much at the centre of the community and works closely with all partner agencies. It is very well resourced and benefits from a large outdoor area. The Nursery shares space within the school e. g. main hall for sports activities and the large open playground which includes green field areas, climbing wall and garden area.
A Learning Centre with a hydrotherapy pool offers support to pupils with additional needs.
Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Nursery settings may operate between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm and employees working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service.
Applicants for Early Years Support Assistant posts should be registered with the SSSC.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
This post is fixed term for up to 1 year.
