Our Employability & Skills service operates on a region-wide basis delivering on our Council’s priorities and to support achievement of the ambitions of: Dumfries and Galloway’s Local Outcomes Improvement Plan 2017-2027, D&G Local Employability and Skills Partnership Delivery Plan 2022-26, No One Left Behind and Best Start, Bright Future. 

The Keyworker Coordinator will lead a team of Employability Key Workers to support people the region to find work.  The successful candidate will work to support individuals to identify employability and skills support aimed at supporting them in to work.

The post is within the Employability and Skill Service and the successful candidate will have experience of employability delivery, budgetary management, and experience of monitoring and reporting on performance. 

Ideally, applicants will have had experience of supporting people to find work.  They will understand the development and delivery of employability programmes, and the wider economic priorities for Dumfries and Galloway. 

They will be able to demonstrate experience of effective partnership relationships and multi-agency working which can evidence impact and it is essential that they are able to demonstrate an awareness of local, regional, and national employability strategies, activities and agencies.

The post-holder will be central to the delivery of externally funded contracts, including Scottish Government NOLB funding. 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. 
 
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident. 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

This post is fixed term until March 2025.  This post may be suitable for secondment.  Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
