You will be required to work 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

 

The successful candidate for this post will be expected to liaise with parents/carers and staff to support pupils who are currently struggling to come to school/arrive on time by visiting the home if necessary. Thereafter, the Pupil Equity Worker will support targeted young people with their learning, either in class, small groups or one to one support. They will follow the duties as outlined within the job description.

 

Funded by PEF, the role will involve; building positive relationships with pupils and parents, liaising closely with Principal Teacher of ASL to plan and provide additional supports (including breakfast club) for young people, monitoring and tracking progress with individual pupils’ targets and reporting this back to SMT and teaching staff.

 

The successful candidate will be Educated to Standard Grade (Level3) or equivalent, including English and Maths and have prior experience of working with children and young people and hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

 

This is a fixed term post until Jul 2025 based at Castle Douglas High School.

 

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
