Social Care Worker

Dumfries

£15,598.58 - £16,466.54

£16,910.54 - £18,134.63

You will be required to work 18.5 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a challenging and rewarding career with real opportunities to change the lives of children and young people living away from their families. If you are dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic then we want to hear from you. This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of residential childcare, working alongside an existing staff team. The house has on average 4 children and young people aged between 8 and 18 years.

As a social care worker, you will contribute to their assessment of need, and support children and young people in all aspects of their daily lives. This will include shift work, weekends, and possible sleep overs on a rota basis.

Your personal qualities and life experience will help us create an environment of nurture, reflection, challenge, personal attention and specialist help. Your talents will help young people develop the values, skills, knowledge, self-control and direction that will enable them to fulfil their potential.

You will work as part of a team to provide an excellent standard of care, utilising the PACE approach, the principles of Signs of Safety, and the Promise, to ensure our children and young people are front and centre of all we do, and they experience the best possible care. A working knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice, the Promise and the challenges faced by children and young people cared for away from home is desirable.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
