An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and experienced teachers to join Langlands School as a Teacher (Additional Support for Learning).

 

Two posts are available, both of which are 0.8FTE (4 days per week) and are permanent positions.

 

Langlands School is a unique setting as the only special school within Dumfries and Galloway Council. We cater for secondary-aged young people with severe and complex additional support needs. We are a well-staffed and well-resourced school, focused on ensuring all young people feel valued, respected and included, and are able to learn, develop and succeed.

This post forms part of Dumfries Learning Town schools and/or The Bridge to deliver courses as part of the BGE and /or senior phase curriculum as appropriate to meet the needs of our learners.

 

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
