We are recruiting an enthusiastic Drama teacher to collaborate with the Languages and Expressive Arts faculty team and offer a high quality experience to all young people across the BGE and Senior Phase at Moffat Academy. This is a full time position to cover a Maternity Leave period of up to 6 months.

 

As a class teacher you will provide effective learning and teaching and carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Head Teacher.

 

As part of an all through 2 to 18 cluster comprising two nurseries, two primaries and a secondary school, we work closely as a team to nurture and support our young people, families, and community. Our staff strive to deliver an excellent experience of the highest standards to all learners in our beautiful environment. This position may be suitable for a Secondment, Line Management approval should be sought before applying for the position.

 

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
