We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated class teacher to work 7 hours per week on a permanent basis.


The successful candidate will provide effective learning and teaching and should demonstrate a commitment to creating a quality learning environment. They will carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Headteacher


As part of a 2 to 18 cluster comprising two nurseries, two primaries and a secondary school, we work closely as a team to nurture and support our young people, families, and community. Our staff strive to deliver an excellent experience of the highest standards to all learners in our beautiful environment. We are looking for a dedicated Primary Practitioner who will deliver outstanding learning and teaching, be flexible, versatile and deliver extra-curricular and wider achievement opportunities for the benefit of all young people. A significant relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful

candidate (Permanent positions only). Please see attached guidance for further information.


Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.


This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.


Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
