Trading Standards Officer (14/9)

£44,187 - £47,643

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Protection service.

We have a vacancy for a qualified Trading Standards Officer to work within our small, but motivated, Trading Standards team.

This is a hybrid post, working from home with an office base in either Dumfries or Stranraer (your choice).

Salary: £44,187 - £47,643

  • 36 hours/week, permanent

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with the Trading Standards Practitioner certificate (or equivalent), including metrology, and some experience of working in that role.

However, we understand that this might be difficult to find so would consider someone who has almost completed their training or who has completed the certificate and would be willing to add the metrology module. If this is you then you are welcome to apply but you could only be appointed to our Level 2 Trainee TSO post until you qualify as a TSO. The Level 2 Trainee salary is £32,907 - £35,289.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we have a digital transformation programme ahead of us that will modernise our service delivery, make us more efficient and improve how we engage with businesses, the public and partner organisations.

We are happy to chat about flexible working so that you have the best hours that work for you.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
