Requirements

You will have 2 Higher Grades at level C or above, or an equivalent National Qualification, or relevant experience in IT.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for ​computer and network equipment installation, configuration and support of all such equipment in Dundee schools. You will assist in ensuring that the ICT infrastructure in schools is developed and supported to maximise effective use by pupils and teachers. You will advise Headteachers and staff within the schools’ environment on best computer equipment to meet requirements along with defining specific IT requirements for procurement. You will assist in supporting the wider Council ICT environment, as required.

The Individual

You will have experience in an IT support sector in at least 2 of the following categories: • Practical networking (routing, bridging, etc) • Microsoft Server operating systems • PCs / Windows implementation and support • Cabling and Infrastructure • Application software support. You will have proven ability to manage projects and deadlines and a wide product knowledge as well as proven fault diagnosis and rectification abilities/techniques, along with good customer liaison skills. You will have a current driving licence and be willing to work out of hours as required. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
