Requirements

You will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying or other construction discipline and considerable industry experience, or HNC in an associated discipline with related estimating experience.

Responsibilities

You will ensure the efficient commercial management of all projects under the control of the postholder ensuring all internal and external valuations, sub-contractor payments, bonus payments and cost/value reconciliation reports are undertaken in align with the commercial timetable, also to procure specialist sub-contractors against tender budgets and in align with the construction phase programme.

The Individual

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of Building Construction Methodology, Maintenance Works and commercial management experience, with considerable knowledge of the current JCT Conditions of Contract and Standard Method of Measurement SMM7 and CESMM. You will also have a thorough knowledge of analytical and electronic estimating and valuation systems and be able to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines for tender submissions and deal with continuous workloads, peaks and troughs. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and planning skills and be computer literate, spreadsheets and management reports. A full driving licence, commitment to producing a quality service, with strong customer focus and understanding of the CDM Regulations along with Health and Safety within the Construction Industry is also essential.
