Job Description
Within an IT environment, to train and participate in “system life cycle duties” by providing technical support in the ICT infrastructure environment to support current and evolving digital transformation initiatives within East Ayrshire Council.
The level of participation will expand as the post holder's relevant experience and/or qualifications increase; and in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the Finance and ICT Service Plan and the Community Plan.Responsibilities

There is 1 full time temporary post available within the Education IT Support - EdITS Team. The start date for this post will be August 2024.
The admin base for this post is The Opera House, John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock.
The hours of work are 35 per week.
The rate of pay for these posts is £7.49 for 16-20 year olds, £10.18 for 21-22 year olds and £10.42 for 23+ year olds.
Further Education (FE)
As part of this modern apprentice programme, the successful candidates will participate and complete the following:
Year 1 – SCQF Level 6 in Digital Technology - IT Support; this program will be facilitated by a 3rd party training partner of the Council.
Year 2 / 3 – HNC in Computing (Computer Science); this course will be undertaken on a day release basis at Ayrshire College (Kilwinning Campus). Course costs / travel expenses will be met by the Council.
Salary Year 1 – salary will be as per the Council’s modern apprentice programme
Year 2 / Year 3 – Scottish National Living wage (dependant on attendance at FE College)
