Job Description

Working within our Revenues & Processing and Collections & Recovery service teams, the post holder will contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of the Council’s Revenues & Benefits functions and Collection & Recovery functions.

The work of these service teams includes dealing with all matters relating to Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Housing Benefits, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, Clothing Grants and Free School Meals, Income Collection, Debt Recovery and Scottish Welfare Fund in accordance with statutory legislation and regulations in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to those identified within the Finance and ICT Service Plan, the Council’s Digital Strategy and the Community Plan.

 

Requirements

The duties of this post requires access to the public sector network and therefore the successful applicant must complete a basic Disclosure Scotland application. A formal offer of employment with East Ayrshire Council will only be made once satisfactory clearance has been received. Any information that is disclosed on a basic disclosure will require to be discussed before a formal offer of employment is made.

The Individual

These are four permanent full time posts with an admin base of The Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock

Normal office hours are are 35 hours per week working Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm & Friday 9am - 4pm.

The full time salary of these posts is between £24,734 - £25,953 per annum.

The workstyle for this post is: Flexible - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/ multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments.
