East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust
East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust (EDLC) is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status and commenced trading on 1 April 2011.
EDLC encourages and facilitates a broad range of participation from all spectrums of the community and significantly contributes to improving the physical and mental health and sense of wellbeing of East Dunbartonshire residents.
The Trust has 4 key service areas:
- Active Schools & Community Sport
- Heritage & Arts
- Leisure Centres & Pitches
- Libraries
Cultural Services are responsible for a range of activities including the provision of quality library, museum and cultural services to the people and communities of East Dunbartonshire through a network of community buildings. We provide services and resources which support lifelong learning, skills development and literacy, as well as enabling and promoting access to local heritage and history and equity of access to information.
Leisure Services provide an accessible range of sport & leisure activities at a value for money price. A key priority is to promote participation in activities at all levels and all sections of the community from recreational participation to elite performers. To deliver on this agenda the development of robust and productive relationships with local sports clubs, voluntary groups, health board and national bodies such as sportscotland is essential.
