Job Summary

This temporary post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.

East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join its Housing service in the role of Strategy and Performance Adviser.

The successful candidate will develop and implement Housing policies, strategies and plans and will ideally have a housing or policy background. As you will be responsible for the supervision and support of the Housing strategy and performance team you will have proven experience of working in this environment, and knowledge and experience of ensuring emerging legislation and best practice is translated into operational procedures.

You will demonstrate accurate collection, analysis and reporting of performance data in conjunction with Team Leaders and Executive Officers, fully appraising key trends and ensure that areas of under-performance can be effectively challenged.

Working and forging partnerships is an important aspect of this role as you will be a key interface for Service Leadership Teams for Housing strategy matters ensuring a regular flow of information and insights between managers and the wider Organisational Development teams. Communication skills are key, both written and verbal along with enthusiasm to support a customer focused culture in service delivery and improvement to enhance the performance of the organisation.

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead.

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
