Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).  Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay:  £12.42-£13.45
This is a 38-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time only.

Working 3 days which are still to be agreed, 08:29-15:20 (less breaks)

Post 2
29.67 Hours per week
Temporary until 31st May 2024
Days and hours of work:
Monday - Thursday, 08:25-15:25 (less breaks)
Friday, 08:25-12:25

North Berwick High School is a secondary school in the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick, which recently received an excellent HMIE inspection report. The current school roll is 1050; this is expected to increase significantly over the next few years. Expansion work to create more classrooms and improved facilities is currently underway. Strong links have been developed with the local community and a broad range of extra curricular activities are on offer.

The successful candidate will provide support to a small caseload of identified pupils, both in classes and in the Pupil Support Base as part of the Inclusion team. This team is made up of a Principal Teacher of Inclusion, two Pupil Support Workers and a number of committed ASN auxiliaries.

To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.

Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
