Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £13.42 - £14.47

Temporary until 26th June 2025.
This is a 39-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.
Days and hours of work:
Friday, 08:45-12:45
To start 16th August 2024.

Sanderson's Wynd is a vibrant, inclusive community school with many new learning opportunities on offer. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a passionate team of professional people. This post is for an ASN auxiliary to work in a severe & complex needs early years provision supporting pupils between the age of 2-5 with severe and complex needs and Autism. Additional skills in moving & handling, epilepsy, Signalong would be an advantage but not essential as training could be provided. Visits to the nursery are highly recommended.

To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.

Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups are required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
