We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong customer focus to join our busy IT Team to assist with Incident and Request Management calls to our IT Service Desk. The IT Team provides support to all Services across the Council including schools. While technical skills are important to us, we are looking for people with good communication and problem solving skills who are able to put customers at their ease and explain technical issues in simple terms.

The post will be within our IT Service Desk and End User Platforms team and successful candidates will work both on their own and with colleagues across the service to carry out all aspects of the support lifecycle. This will include logging and triaging calls, providing fixes and work arounds, resolving incidents and requests, and assisting with wider work of the service including participating in technology rollout and refresh projects and undertaking patching and upgrading as necessary.

The successful candidate should be keen to maintain a proactive approach to customer satisfaction, identifying concerns before they become problems and continue to develop their IT skills and keep abreast of the latest technologies.

They will demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, be able to manage their time effectively and be equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team. Experience of providing end user support and supporting Microsoft Office is desirable.

Please note that this is an office based role working out of our Headquarters at John Muir House, Haddington.
