Grade 7, £29874-£32447 per annum(£16.37 - £17.78 per hour) - Assistant Planner (Enforcement)
Grade 9, £37246-£41498 per annum(£20.41 - £22.74 per hour) - Planner (Enforcement)

Please Note:
The successful candidate will be appointed at Grade 9 to the role of Planner (Enforcement) if they have both a relevant qualification and chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Otherwise, they will be appointed at Grade 7 to the role of Assistant Planner (Enforcement). Should they attain chartered membership whilst in the Grade 7 post they would then move up to a Grade 9, Planner (Enforcement).

Monday - Friday
Starting and finishing times are flexible, and flexi time is applicable

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in East Lothian Council's Planning Service. This post primarily involves investigating alleged breaches of planning control, and pursuing the most appropriate and effective action to remedy these. The post holder will work closely with other planners and with officers from other Services. There will be opportunity to also get involved in a range of other planning work. Home Working Consideration

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Grade 9 - Planner:
Professional planning qualification (Honours degree, diploma or equivalent) accredited by the RTPI plus Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Grade 7 - Assistant Planner:
Professional planning qualification (Honours degree, diploma or equivalent) accredited by the RTPI

Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*
