This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career and be part of our busy landscape team. Working within the Planning Service, the successful candidate will be able to affect change and have a positive impact on the landscape of East Lothian, aligned to our climate and nature objectives.
This permanent role offers the flexibility of working within the Council headquarters in Haddington and of homeworking, allowing you that freedom and work life balance.
This post would be suitable both for suitably qualified graduates and for more experienced landscape officers. Whilst we currently only have one vacancy, please note that a second landscape project officer post may also become available.
Home Working Consideration

Job Details
To undertake and assist in managing the work of the team so that the council carries out its statutory duties and related functions with particular reference to the Council's responsibilities for trees and landscape issues under the Town & Country Planning Acts and related legislation.
To advise the public, council members and officials on issues related to landscape and trees.
To provide a high-quality landscape design service to all council departments. To undertake the design and implementation of a wide range of landscape and environmental improvement projects, and other Council projects.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
Degree in Landscape Architecture.
Member of the Landscape Institute.
Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*
