We are looking for a passionate and motivated professional with significant leadership experience within an Early Years environment who will be able to take responsibility for overseeing the co-ordinated operational management, development and delivery of an effective Early Learning and Childcare service.

You will work closely with the Service Manager to build and maintain high standards of learning, care, and service provision across all aspects of Early Learning and Childcare.

You will be able to provide practice advice to the Service Manager and wider council departments to support the planning, development, improvement, and delivery of Early Years’ services including schools and Early Learning and Childcare settings across Local Authority, Private and Third Sector environments in line with local and national legislation and guidance.

You will also be responsible for a team of Quality and Equity Leads, ASN outreach officer and an early years and childcare development officer.

Job Details

To oversee the co-ordinated operational management, development and delivery of an effective Early Learning and Childcare service. To support the Service Manager – Early Learning and Childcare and Whole Family Wellbeing to build and maintain high standards of learning, care, and service provision across all aspects of Early Learning and Childcare.

Provide practice advice to the Service Manager and wider council departments to support the planning, development, improvement, and delivery of Early Years’ services including schools and Early Learning and Childcare settings across Local Authority, Private and Third Sector environments in line with local and national legislation and guidance.

Day to day responsibility for managing the process of providing advice, support, and challenge to secure continuous improvement in Early Learning and Childcare across schools and settings.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Degree Level or equivalent e.g., in education, health, social.

Evidence of Career-Long Professional Development.

Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
