The Local Employability Partnership East Renfrewshire brings together a range of strategic partners to support the implementation of local and national employability policy through collective leadership and joint planning. The partnership works closely with local delivery partners to make best use of the resources available to delivery effective needs led employability services that help East Renfrewshire residents to make a successful transition towards employment.
We are looking for a motivated person, seeking a challenging role working across a range of council departments and strategic planning partners. The Best Start, Bright Futures (BSBF): Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2022-2026 was published by the Scottish Government in March 2022. Employability is a key pillar of the plan, and builds on current interventions through our No One Left Behind approach to ensure that work offers an effective and sustainable route out of poverty for families.
Working with East Renfrewshire’s Employability Team (Work EastRen) and the Local Child Poverty Group, the Child Poverty Employability Coordinator will provide critical additional resource to support the delivery of commitments by ensuring alignment between Local Employability Partnerships (LEP) and wrap-around services that support parents’ transition or progression within work. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team and to make a difference and deliver results.
The post holder will be the main point of contact for all partnership work relating to the Child Poverty Employability agenda being delivered across East Renfrewshire and with all partnership agencies. The post holder will also support the Local Employability Partnership members and the wider Child Poverty agenda.
Scottish Government funding has been committed to East Renfrewshire Council to support the Employability agenda for parents.
*Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
