East Renfrewshire Council’s Community Learning and Development service is data-driven, people-centred and outcome focused.

In order to deliver improved outcomes for young people and close the attainment gap we are seeking to recruit 2 highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic Community Workers.

You will be professionally qualified in Community Learning and Development and have a proven track record of working with young people in a wide range of settings.

This post will require both evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the project.

The successful candidate will be skilled at evidencing the impact participation in CLD programmes has on the young people we work with.

Post 1 – The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and delivering learning programmes for young people to develop their skills to support them on their employability journey. This will include supporting young people to gain qualifications and awards.

Post 2 - The successful candidate will be experienced in community based youth work, and be able to work with young people to divert them from anti-social and risk-taking behaviour. The post will involve developing a range of programmes for young people both in schools and the community.

 This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
