Join Our Facilities Team – Casual Janitor

Are you dependable, hands-on and committed to keeping schools running smoothly and safely? We are seeking some reliable and flexible Casual Janitors to join our facilities team, supporting both primary and secondary school sites across the Falkirk Council area.

As a Casual Janitor, you will play an important part in maintaining safe, clean, and well‑presented school environments. The role will involve working across multiple school locations, including both primary and secondary schools, as required.

What You’ll Do:

• Carrying out general caretaking and janitorial duties.
• Ensuring buildings and grounds are clean, secure, and well maintained.
• Setting up and clearing down rooms for school or community activities.
• Responding to basic maintenance issues and reporting defects.
• Opening and closing buildings, including security checks.

What we are looking for:

• Reliable, practical, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable working in a school environment.
• Good communication and basic maintenance skills.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe environment for children and staff.

The Role:

• Casual, as‑required hours.
• Evening and weekend working will also form part of the role.
• Flexibility to work across different school sites is essential

Additional Information:

• The post will involve working around children and young people.

• If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
