An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leadership Team at Maddiston PS. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative Principal Teacher.  The successful candidate will demonstrate that they have the skills, qualities and enthusiasm to further develop and build on the existing high standards within the school and are committed to providing an excellent education for all young people.

We are looking for a Principal Teacher who:

• has an excellent pedagogical knowledge and a depth of exemplary primary school teaching experience
• is committed to continuous improvement
• motivates, guides and leads others
• leads learning and improvement
• works effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to bring about improvement
• uses skilled interactions when dealing with children, colleagues, parents and partners.

Although the remit is set out below, it may be subject to change in line with the dynamic needs of the school.

Operational Responsibilities (to be discussed and agreed following appointment)- Working as part of the Leadership Team the successful candidate will have:

• Pastoral responsibility for assigned classes.
• Responsibility for Quality Assurance of teaching and learning.
• Responsibility for tracking of pupil progress.

Strategic Responsibilities

• To coordinate literacy learning and teaching across the whole school.
• To lead on strategic assessment and data informed practice.
• To play a strategic role in engaging all partners and stakeholders in the ethos and life of the school.
• To work as part of the Leadership Team with a particular focus on how we are closing the attainment gap.
• Responsibility for aspects of the development of whole school planning, moderation and assessment frameworks.

Experience

• This post is suited to someone who is ready to further develop their leadership experience.
• This post is suited to someone who has undertaken CLPL linked to developing their leadership skills. 
• Experience in leading initiatives within the school.
• Experience across different areas of the Primary School.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
