The Role

This is an opportunity for a talented individual to play a key role in the delivery of new construction projects across the Falkirk Council area.

Applications are invited for the role of Senior Clerk of Works based within the Building Design Unit of Invest Falkirk, which is a division of Place Services, to lead a team of Clerk of Works providing a site inspectorate service relating to construction projects.

Reporting directly to the Building Design Manager you will ensure the effective delivery of a comprehensive site inspectorate service relating to both the Council’s housing and non-housing construction projects, and you will be responsible for the supervision and management of a team of Clerk of Works supporting this service. The role also includes liaising with internal & external stakeholders & clients throughout projects. As a Senior officer, you will assist other members of the team with workload and development.

You will hold an HND in a Construction related discipline (or equivalent), will be a member of a relevant institution, such as Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate, and you will have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, the construction process and CDM/Health and Safety legislation.

You are required to be flexible, innovative and reactive to public demands and pressures.
