Windsor Park School and Sensory Service is a provision located near the centre of Falkirk. The school is specifically for deaf children and young people. The Sensory Service consists of two separate services, The Visual Impairment Service and the Visiting Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People.

This vacancy is within the Visual Impairment Service, responsible for supporting visually impaired and blind children and young people across Falkirk.  It is a peripatetic role.

Successful applicants will:

  • hold an appropriate teaching qualification 
  • be fully registered with the General Teaching Council, Scotland (GTCS)
  • be a fully qualified Teacher of Visually Impaired Children and Young People or have a willingness to undertake this mandatory training
  • be able to demonstrate that they possess the commitment, knowledge and skills outlined in the Standard for Full Registration
  • have knowledge and understanding of the specific competencies for teachers of visually impaired/blind learners
  • be skilled in Braille and/or have a willingness to learn Grade 2 Braille (Contracted)
  • have a full driving licence and be able to travel throughout Falkirk
