We are looking for an accomplished and talented strategic HR leader to step in to this pivotal Chief Officer role, where you will shape and deliver our workforce strategy, leading the transformation of our workforce to support organisational priorities, and ensuring we have the workforce, leadership capability and culture required to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. We expect you will already have proven experience in shaping workforce strategy, organisational development and transformational change; advising at a senior level; and leading on employee relations.

For someone who is passionate about developing people, creating high-performing cultures and delivering positive outcomes for employees, services and communities, this is one of the premier HR roles in Scottish local government.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and credible senior leader who can demonstrate:

• Significant leadership experience within a large, complex and publicly accountable organisation.
• A strong track record of leading workforce strategy, organisational development and transformational change.
• Experience of advising senior executives, elected representatives or equivalent governing bodies.
• The ability to build strong relationships, influence decision-making and provide strategic challenge at the highest levels.
• Experience of leading employee relations, partnership working and organisational change in complex environments.
• Outstanding communication, influencing and negotiation skills, underpinned by sound judgement and professional credibility.
