Job Details
This job is a senior management position within the Council’s Business Technology Solutions Service (BTS) reporting directly to the Head of ICT. As well as ensuring that the IT systems used by major Services and Directorates within the Council are properly supported and maintained, you will also ensure that Services are taking full advantage of technology and digital solutions available to them to meet their service delivery objectives. You will manage a team of technical staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of these systems as well as preparing and delivering new changes, projects and upgrades to these systems as required.
The Person
If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we’d like to hear from you:
- Professional Diploma or equivalent vocational accreditation in a computing/systems or related discipline or equivalent experience
- A good knowledge of ICT and project disciplines and practices, including working experience of ITIL, COBIT, MSP and PRINCE2 methodologies
You should have experience of working in a leadership role within an ICT function and demonstrate a good track record of project and programme delivery as well as ICT operational and service delivery. You should also be able to demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills and have a track record of working effectively with multiple disciplines and services across a complex and large organisation.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
