Job Details
Would you like to work for an award winning Planning Service? Fife has a lot to offer.
The post will provide an opportunity to work within a large Planning Authority as a Planning Assistant within our Gateway Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be able to work within a busy team dealing with the validation of planning applications ranging from small scale applications to more complex development proposals. The post will also involve providing advice to staff within the team as well as providing general advice to customers.
Whilst the post will be focussed on the validation of planning applications there may be future opportunities to gain experience in dealing with planning applications. The varied workload and range of activities within the service mean that there’s a real opportunity to expand your range of experience. Personal development is supported through our extensive CPD programme and our network of professional mentors and we have a proven track record of supporting Licentiate Members through to Chartered Membership of the RTPI.
The Person
If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we’d like to hear from you:
- Licentiate or Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
- Educated to Degree, Diploma or equivalent in Town and County Planning
Licentiate members of the RTPI will be supported to ensure that they gain all the necessary skills to work towards Chartered Membership of the RTPI.
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude to customer care; applicants must be able to demonstrate a level of competence and knowledge of planning legislation as well as previous experience in relation to the validation of applications would be welcomed.
As a Planning Authority, we have been able to continue to deliver a full planning service through hybrid working due to our early adoption, and continued development, of e-planning. The planning service is keen to promote and encourage continued hybrid working.
Applicants must meet the specified criteria on the post applied for and must demonstrate this within their application.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
