Job Details

An opportunities has arisen within the Kinship Team which is part of the Children and Families Resource Service . The post holders will work as part of a team with a particular focus on whole family supports.

The staff members will join a highly motivated and skilled team who work across Fife with partners to identify, assess and provide high quality support to Kinship Carers, enabling children and young people to remain within their families.

The successful candidates will ensure high quality support plans and interventions for the children, young people and Families we support, contributing to complex assessments of need and risk.

They will contribute to the development of a high quality professional Children and Families Service. Develop thorough and informed assessments of children and young people and their families in order to provide logical and coherently presented recommendations for the Kinship Panel.

Undertake the duties placed on the Local Authority in relation to the provision of services for children affected by disability, looked after children and children at risk.

Maintain service user/carer contact as required.

Promote/maintain independence and inclusion.

Participate in multi-agency meetings as required.

Work in collaboration with partners e.g. Health, Police and voluntary sector agencies.

Strive to improve outcomes for service users.

Promote the interests of service users and carers in terms of rights, opportunities, culture and diversity.

The Person

A Diploma in Social Work qualification is essential, as is registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.

You should have experience in a relevant setting.

You will have knowledge and understanding of Child and Adult Protection guidelines and information sharing protocols and experience of joint working to achieve common goals.

Effective writing and verbal skills.

Ability to communicate and present information clearly within a variety of settings.

Knowledge of professional practice models and standards.

Knowledge, skills and experience of utilising a variety of interventions in working with groups and individuals.

Commitment to service user participation principles.

You will have the ability to travel throughout Fife.

The pattern of working hours will be determined for individual remits and on occasions may include evenings and weekends. There will be a requirement to attend meetings out with normal working hours, when necessary, subject to service user and staff availability.

There will also be a requirement to attend out with normal working hours for development, training, registration compliance etc when necessary.

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
