Job Details

There’s never been a better time to join our Active Communities team! We have an ambitious new strategy that we’re developing ahead of launching in 2025 – and we are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to part of our journey who wants everyone in Fife to access and enjoy the benefits of community sport and physical activity to people and communities.

Active Communities Officer (Community Sport Hubs) will help us achieve this by delivering the CSH programme as part of a team, together increasing the number and diversity of people taking part in sport and physical activity in our local communities, removing barriers to participation where possible. Your focus will include:

  • Fostering community collaboration with volunteers, clubs, sporting and non-sporting partners, and wider services to develop and deliver a diverse programme of community sport and physical activity opportunities.
  • Recruiting, developing, and empowering community leaders.
  • Supporting and sustaining participation for those who would benefit the most from sport and physical activity in our communities.
  • Connect, leverage and transfer the value of sport and physical activity to new and existing partners to address community needs and achieve local outcomes.

As a team, we all support a Changing Lives approach to our work and that of our community groups, clubs, and wider stakeholders. Applicants who are Changing Lives Champions and those interested in becoming a Champion would be welcomed.

We’re looking for a natural connector of, and for, people and communities, a great communicator, who has a passion for sport and physical activity, and an understanding of how it can meet local need to address health, social and economic inequalities across Fife. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

Before you apply, watch Sport Scotland's Community Sports Hubs video and consider what experience you have of bringing a community together using physical activity and sport to improve the wellbeing of people - Welcome to community sport hubs - YouTube.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
