Job Details
The Technician supports the Transport Networks team to develop transport plans and deliver sustainable transport strategies to promote walking, wheeling and cycling. The Technician also helps monitor the use of car parking within Fife.
Tasks include:
- Supporting the development and monitoring of transport strategies, including the Local Transport Strategy, Area Transport Plans and Parking Strategy
- Supervising a team of surveyors to deliver traffic and parking surveys
- Analysing and preparing technical information and reports to influence major infrastructure investment

While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
The Person
You should:
- Be educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at Credit level or equivalent, including Maths and English
- Have experience in a related technical office environment
- Have skills in operating standard computer packages
- Have the ability to carry out on-site survey work
- Have the ability to work with numbers
- Have the ability to communicate effectively, work in a team and show initiative
- Have the ability to work accurately with the minimum of supervision
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
