Job Description

We are recruiting a Finance Officer on a Fixed term period for up to 12 months.

Join our 3,000 strong team of dedicated staff and volunteers. You will be responsible for the provision of a professional management accounting service, supporting services in the management of their allocated budgets, ensuring overall company objectives are achieved.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:
• Supporting services with budget planning and the preparation of budgets
• Monitoring of performance against budget, investigating and reporting on variances including full year forecast
• Accounting for and reporting on Restricted Funds
• Provision of financial information and advice to managers to inform decision making and business planning
• Assist with preparation of final accounts and financial reports
• Completion of statutory and other returns to both internal and external partners
• Reconciliation of key budget areas

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:
• HNC/Association of Accounting Technician/Part Qualified or qualified by experience
• Competent in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets
• Established negotiating skills to influence and provide challenge to budget holders
• Understanding of financial controls and financial environment
• Ability to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities
