As a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard), you'll play a key role in providing excellent customer service to swimmers and visitors at our sports venues. You'll ensure high standards of service from reception to poolside, keeping the venue clean and assisting with bookings and payments. You'll also help prepare activities and events. Reporting to the Duty Manager and working with the team, you'll be responsible for supervising the pools and ensuring customer safety.

What We’re Looking For:
• Confident swimming ability (able to achieve a timed 100m swim & deep dive).
• Existing pool lifeguard qualification OR willingness to achieve the STA Pool Lifeguard qualification within 12 weeks (training provided by Glasgow Life).
• Commitment to ongoing training to maintain your qualification.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Please download and read the full person specification for this role under the ‘Job Attachments’ section before applying.

Our city-wide teams support venues across Glasgow as required, but everyone has a primary venue. Work at one of our fantastic pool venues across Glasgow: Scotstoun, Tollcross, Gorbals, Maryhill, Castlemilk, North Woodside, Drumchapel, Pollok, Easterhouse Springburn or Bellahouston (dependant on available vacancies).

We believe in the transformational power of the programmes and events we provide for the people and visitors of Glasgow. If you would like to be a part of what we do, we’d love to hear from you.

Important Dates: Closing date 6th April, apply online through MyJobScotland. Interviews are provisionally scheduled for w/c 14th April.

You’ll be asked for your personal details such as work history, training and questions, including ‘What skills and qualities make you a good fit for this job?’. We’ll assess your application against the criteria listed in the person specification, so make sure to refer to this when completing the form.

The interview process has two stages: first, a swim test to assess your ability. Successful candidates will then proceed immediately to a competency-based interview.
