Job Description

Glasgow Life is looking for full and part time Retail Assistants to join us at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on fixed term contracts for a period up to 23rd October 2023.  As Retail Assistants you will be joining our in-demand Museums Retail Department. You will be part of a dedicated team which will support the delivery of the retail and ticket desk offer at the Mary Quant Temp exhibition at Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

The role 
As a Retail Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of the team by welcoming visitors to Glasgow Museums and delivering exceptional customer service to all our customers. Reporting to the Shop Manager and working alongside an established retail team. 

The candidate 
If you’re interested in joining us as a Retail Assistant, you’ll need: 
•    Previous retail experience
•    Proven customer service experience
•    Good Communication skills, and an ability to work as part of a team
•    Cash handling and till transactional experience
•    Flexible to change working hours with an ability to work Saturdays and Sundays

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum has great links to public transport, and there is onsite metered/paid parking.

The vacancies on offer include 
-    Full time 35 hour post which is spread over 5 days out of 7 (including a min of 1 day at the weekend)
-    Part time 20 hour post which is spread over 5 days out of 7 (including a min of 1 day at the weekend)
-    Part time 12 hour post which is spread over the weekend so Saturday and Sunday working.
There will be flexibility within the week-to-week rotas, and this can be discussed more at interview stages.
