To help us achieve that, we are looking for qualified Swimming Teachers to join our team on a permanent part time basis. We are offering flexible weekday and evening contracts across our range of swimming pools. As a Swimming Teacher, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering fun and exciting lessons to our Learn to Swim customers who range from Pre-School to Adults, Beginners to Improvers.

Our positions cover our City-wide Learn to Swim venues meaning you could work in any of our venues delivering Swimming Lessons; examples of some of our current vacancies include:
- Tuesday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Pollok or Glasgow Club Gorbals
- Wednesday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Scotstoun
- Thursday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Bellahouston
- Friday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Tollcross
- Saturday 8:40am-1pm at Glasgow Club Gorbals
- Sunday 8:40am-1pm at Glasgow Club Gorbals
- Sunday 2:40 – 7pm at Glasgow Club Bellahouston or Glasgow Club Tollcross
All our venues have great links to public transport and either free parking or parking nearby.
Contract type:
- Permanent
Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £13.89 - £14.74 per hour (depending on experience).
Location:
- City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview.
What you’ll do
As a Swimming Teacher you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Swim Officers/Swim Co-ordinators within our venues and work alongside an established team of teachers. Don’t worry if you are new to teaching or don't have a lot of experience; we can provide support from our Lead Teachers and Tutors who can help bring out the best in you! If you have the right aptitude and enthusiasm; we will work with you to make you the best teacher possible

This role is to work within our evening & weekends programme where our shifts are Monday to Friday 3:40-8pm, Saturday 8:40am-1pm and Sunday 8:40am-1pm and 2:40-7pm.
If you’re interested in joining us as a Swimming Teacher, you’ll must have one of the following qualifications:
- Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification (SSTQ)
- UKCC Level 1 OR UKCC L2 Swim Teachers Qualification
- STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming (unfortunately we cannot accept STA Award in Teaching Swimming)
- Other qualifications may be considered if they are comparable to the above
We are also looking for candidates who have the following essentials:
- Experience/knowledge and enthusiasm of working with children ages 4yrs and above in a group environment
- Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
- The ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our core programme
Our city-wide contracts mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations. We currently operate our lessons across 6 pools in Glasgow; Scotstoun, Tollcross, Bellahouston, Maryhill, Pollok and Gorbals with Springburn to be re-introduced as our 7th venue after their essential upgrades are completed.

Our application process consists of two stages:
Stage 1 – Virtual Interview
Candidates who meet the required selection criteria will be invited to a virtual interview. During this session, we’ll share more details about our lesson programme and discuss your swimming teaching experience, as well as the type of role you’re seeking and what we can offer. You’ll also be asked a competency-based question related to teaching swimming, which helps us understand your experience and suitability for the role.
Stage 2 – Practical Assessment
Candidates who successfully complete Stage 1 will be invited to a practical assessment. This involves demonstrating your skills by delivering a class from poolside for approx. 20-30minutes.
Interviews will be arranged on a rolling basis as applications are received, so we encourage you to apply early – no need to wait until the closing date!
