Job Description

Reporting  to the Assistant Group Manager (Parking Services) you will be part of a team that delivers an effective parking service for Glasgow. 

You will lead a small team in the design of major parking control schemes and minor parking restriction measures, the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process, management of works programmes, enforcement of existing on-road parking restrictions and bus priority measures, and the management and maintenance of the city's parking assets. 

You must have the ability to produce reports, collate performance monitoring information, liaise with external contractors and other bodies, and meet project timescales within budget.  You must also be able to provide technical advice, respond to correspondence from members of the public/elected members and attend site meetings/public exhibitions when necessary. 

A minimum of an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, experience in a parking/roads/traffic/road safety related environment, good communication skills, proficient IT skills and a current driving licence are essential. The ability to attend meetings outside standard office hours is also required. Previous experience of AutoCAD, report writing, works planning, budgetary control and a knowledge and understanding of roads and traffic legislation is desirable.
