Job Description
An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Gravedigger to join our Bereavement Service on a permanent basis.

Position Details
You will undertake all duties assigned in the provision of a bereavement service including carrying out the burial service, carrying out routine associated maintenance and ancillary work as determined necessary within the cities 32 cemeteries.
You must be an excellent communicator with the ability to cope in difficult situations, be flexible and open to new ways of working and be willing to undertake training and familiarity as required in order to carry out duties.
Previous knowledge/work experience in the bereavement industry is desirable. A shift pattern is in operation including weekends and occasional public holiday working, with more details noted below.

A current driving licence including categories B1E and C1E is an essential requirement of this role, as is the ability to operate appropriate excavation plant and associated equipment to CITB trained industry standard is essential.
Contract Details
Weekly Hours: an average of 37 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4pm plus 8:30am – 1pm every second Saturday, and standby on every fifth Sunday.
Annual Salary: £22,961.65 - £24,494.21 on an incremental scale
Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £2,018 per annum and a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £1,723 per annum.
