Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for up to 16 LES Operative 3’s to join our Parks and Open Spaces service on a fixed-term basis for a period of up to 2 years.

Position Details

LES Operative 3’s will be responsible for the maintenance of highways, properties, open spaces, inland waterways, and parks; carrying out semi-skilled work as required. This will involve operating and maintain a range of complex equipment, machinery, and heavy plant/power tools.

Applicants must be adaptable to ever changing workloads, have the ability to see tasks through to completion in a busy environment and to work with, guide and motivate other team members.  Knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety and public safety are essential, as are good communication skills as you will be dealing with the public on a daily basis in the park.

Applicants should be proficient in operating complex machinery requiring a high level of maintenance and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of horticulture and specialist practical skills such as landscaping and construction. A Horticulture Level 3 (SCQF Level 6) qualification, PA1/PA6 training and certification, a First Aid certificate, and a current driving licence are desirable.

Contract Details

Weekly Hours: an average of 37 hours

Work Pattern: 4 on, 4 off

Annual Salary: £22,961.65 - £24,494.21 on an incremental scale

Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £2,018 and a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £1,088 per annum.

Posts are Permanent.
