Job Description
The primary function of this post is to help deliver the Council’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme through the provision of technical expertise.
You will support and engage with Housing Investment colleagues, Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and private Developers. This involves the implementation of agreed appraisal and assessment procedures, ensuring that efficient and effective project appraisals are undertaken to encourage and improve the physical quality of housing projects undertaken by RSLs, and to provide advice in relation to value for money and sustainability.
Another important role within the post is to support the delivery of the Statutory/Voluntary Repairs Programmes affecting tenement buildings in the Private Sector through the provision of technical advice.
You will undertake a full range of surveying duties and working within the framework of best value to ensure that the Council’s legal responsibilities and services are upheld in line with current legislation.
A degree in Building Surveying or similar discipline is essential.
