Job Description

The opportunity to deliver a key role within Glasgow City Council’s development control service with responsibility for supporting brownfield development, reviewing site investigations, risk assessments, including detailed quantitative risk assessments, remediation strategies and validation reports, ensuring that the Council’s obligations under the planning regime and building standards are met.  
 
You should have a degree in a relevant Scientific discipline and have knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry best practice including for contaminated land site investigations, risk assessment including with regards to the Water Environment and mine gas.  You should also be aware of detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment models and soil and groundwater chemistry.
 
You should be able to demonstrate a practical application of contaminated land assessment skills, including Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment and knowledge of the duties of a Contaminated Land Officer within the planning and building standards context.
