Location: Various Locations within Highland Area
Hours: Various Hours (Full and Part Time Available)
Duration: Fixed Term for 12 months
Salary: £31,486 - £34,925 per annum (£17.30 - £19.19 per hour)

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To provide a school counselling service as an integral part of school’s response to supporting children and young people with mental health and wellbeing.

To work as part of a multi-agency team to support the wellbeing of children and young people, and their families when required.

Requirements

Suitably qualified as a counsellor and recognised on an Accredited Register, working within an ethical framework e.g. the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the Health and Care Professions Council for Counselling Psychologists (HPCP) or the register of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA).

Qualified to or currently undertaking an appropriately accredited course to counsel children and young people. Or demonstrate sufficient appropriate experience of working with children and young people to fulfil required competencies.

This position is classified as a regulated role. As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. Specifically, this check will be necessary if you do not meet both of the following criteria:

  • You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
  • You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years.

Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain the Overseas Criminal Record Check, and you will be required to cover any associated costs.
